Tuesday, May 3lst Chamberlain, SD

Start miles - l6,454. Left Chamberlain, SD at 9:45. Winds were very strong on the road. Had to set the cruise on the RV at 55 and hold on. The rain finally stopped -yeah!! Got off I-90 at Exit 131 to see the Minuteman Missile Visitor's Center. Saw a brief movie there. Took the long loop road through the Badlands Park. Got out and hiked a little. Scenery was beautiful. Ended loop in Wall, SD. Walked the town and visited Wall Drug. Had to get some ice cream.  Stopped in Rapid City for fuel and Propane. Took 79 and 36 down into Custer State Park. Stayed at the Game Lodge Campground - very nice. Visited the Lodge Resort. Had a drink there and met the Manager, Mike Tyler. He sat w/us and told stories about the lodge and possible ghosts. He showed us around the lodge including a look inside the room that President Eisenhower and Mamie stayed in 1953. He then took us in his van on the Wildlife Loop Road to see elk. We didn't see any but saw Buffalo, Antelope, Deer, Turkey and a Coyote.

Bruce wanting to know which trail to take hiking.
 Badlands are so cool!!

My Maiden name being Wall, I had to take advantage of some of the signs.

I thought the telephone booth was pretty cool - Call from Wall!!!!
