Tuesday, August 9, 2011 To Banff, Canada

It is always so hard saying "Good Bye".  We had a great time w/Claude and Marlene.  They showed us their beautiful city of Kelowna, their condo, many vineyards and the best time was just sitting, cooking out, having a few drinks, playing cards and chatting till the wee hours.  Very gracious hosts.  Thanks Claude and Marlene for a great time.

Our first stop was a fruit and vegetable market but nothing like we've seen before.  It was called Daves Goatwalk and as you can see, the goats walk up to this crosswalk and wait to be fed.  You put grain in a metal container, pull it up and they get the food.  The kids really enjoyed it.  The food was remarkable but a bit expensive.  A quart of cherries was $13 - yikes.  The gardens; however, were plentiful like everywhere else in Canada.  They have nice cool weather for so long and plenty of rain so they are blooming and blooming.

The countryside again was just beautiful, but I was really excited to see the Canadian Rockies come into sight again and the green waters in the lakes from the glaciers.

After we got settled into our park, we went out on the town in Banff.  Was a great night out so we walked the streets, stopped for a drink then headed home in the moonlight.  Banff is just the loveliest of towns - hated to leave once again but off we go to Medican Hat.
