Monday, August 8, 2011 Kelowna, Canada

Oh my, the sun is shining and it is a gorgeous day.  Did some e-mails, laundry, Bruce cleaned up the RV made breakfast for the four of us and headed out to tour a bit of Kelowna w/Marlene and Claude.
Front of their condo.

Condo overlooks the pool
The first place was to see Marlene and Claude's condo in the city.  Very lovely setting and near downtown, shops, restaurants, etc.  Very good location.

After we spent time at the condo, we toured a winery that overlooks the city.  Can't believe how many vineyards they have in this area - tons.  Not what you would expect in Canada.  Of course, we bought some wine.
Downtown area covered w/flowers everywhere.  Canadian's sure like their flowers.

After walking around the winery, we went back downtown, walked around and had lunch at Rosie's Pub.  It is a happening place as this area is great for walking, biking, blading, sitting and swimming at the beaches.

More flowers - I told you!

Sails - depicting all the boats in the area and beautiful lakes

Canals built to move boats to the lake

After lunch, we toured another winery.  It was totally amazing - nothing like we've ever seen before.  Art pieces were displayed everywhere - something like 53 pcs scattered around the grounds, roses everywhere. They have this bell tower w/four bells that play at noon and 5 p.m. everyday.

It was a long day and definitely hot enough to deserve some time in Okanagan Lake. The water was still cool as their temps just started warming up a week ago - you wouldn't know it by watching all the kids playing in the water.

We had dinner and played some cards afterwards.  Of course, we sampled our new purchases of wine.
Oh dear, Claude lost one game - Loser!!!  Had a fun time and a lot of laughs.Posted by Picasa
