Thursday, August 18, 2011 Minneapolis, MN

We actually relaxed this morning and got caught up on laundry, e-mails, etc.  Then we decided to take a drive to see the largest mall in the world "Mall of America".  Let me tell you it is HUGE!!!  I think every store imaginable is in this mall.  Not only do they have stores, but it is an amusement park as well w/rides galore.  Neither Bruce nor I would even attemp to go on some of these.  As you see below, they twist and turn every which way - Not for us!!

Water slides, Merry Go Rounds, Ferris Wheel and many more!
It is a big weekend at the Mystic Casino, where we are staying in a nearby RV Park.  The Indian's also did a presentation at the mall.  They could be heard no matter which floor you were on.  Very colorful to say the least.
In the Mall is a Lego Store and all kinds of character's built up w/Lego's.  Amazing!  There is also a section where children can take a handful or two and just play and create. The wall of colors are pockets of different colored lego's.  You can grab them by the handfuls, fill up a cup and buy them. Totally surprised as to how many people were still buying them.

After our trip to the Mall, we got together w/more friends from Mesa that live in the Minneapolis area.  Ate at Dangerfield's.  A very nice restaurant.  We were able to sit outside in a screened in area.  Just a perfect night to be outside.

We had a great meal and fun talking about the days in Mesa.  Of course, tennis was brought up, considering most of us play.  Kristie and Tom invited us to their house afterwards to play Catch Phrase.  Lot of laughs for sure.  Kristie also served us her special recipe of blueberry pie.  Excellent to say the least.  Will need to get it the recipe from her.  I've never seen a blueberry pie that didn't run.  Job well done, Kristie.  Another great time spent w/friends.
