Called Dawn  before leaving  at 8 AM for the Discovery boat cruise. The dock area was set up to handle lots of people. The shops had good prices. We boarded the ship at 8:45 along with a few hundred other people mostly from cruise ships. They served free coffee and donuts onboard. Watched a sea plane take off on the water.  Saw some beautiful homes along the river. The ship stopped at a sled dog kennel where they demonstrated the dogs pulling an ATV.  They had three puppies that they were already teaching at just a couple months old. Docked at a model Chena Native Indian Village for 3 talks and wandering around. The whole set up was excellent.  They also brought the dogs over to pet.  When done with the ship our group went to the Pumphouse Restaurant for a very good buffet lunch. We were then driven to the El Dorado Gold Mine. There we took a small train to a sluice and talk about panning for gold. Naturally it rained hard while there. We panned about $30 worth but bought a necklace for $45 to hold it. When we returned back to the RV we just took it easy for the night.

This is a pix of the dog kennels.  Some of the dogs were hooked up to the ATV to run for exercise.

After their run, they are let loose and can run and play in the river.

These are Rheindeer eating the leaves off trees.

The Indians use this device to catch salmon - no motors just the force of the water makes it rotate.

This little gal showed how they cut up the salmon to dry for the winter.  The good salmon they eat, the not so fresh gets cooked up for the dogs.

They showed us how they make use of all the animals hide, etc.  Many different animals used on this coat.

I got a chance to pet one of the sled dogs.

This isn't a live moose but it looks pretty good.

There are a lot of beautiful homes along the river.

This is where we had a very good lunch.

Our guide took us to the pipeline and explained how it all works - very interesting (way over my head).
They use this "Pig" to clean out the pipes.
