Wednesday, June 15, 2011 Columbia Ice Fields, Alberta

AB Morning view was spectacular with the glaciers and snow capped mountains. We left around 8:30. Our first stop was at the Sunwapta Falls which were beautiful. Two buses full of Israeli tourists arrived at the same time. When we were leaving they where in awe of our RV and Dick’s. He had about 40 of them go inside and we let about 10 in ours.   They had never seen a motorhome like ours so they took tons of pictures.  Their first question was “how many live in here?”  When we said just the two of us, they couldn’t believe it.  Very nice people – sorry we didn’t get a picture of them.  Saw one small Mountain goat on the way to the Athabasca Falls. The falls were spectacular. Most of the other coaches were there as well. Left there and went to Jasper. At Jasper we bought a few groceries, walked the town, got fuel, and had lunch. Saw a moose on the way to Mt. Robson area. We stopped at the visitors center there and walked a short loop. Arrived at Irvins RV Park in Valemont, BC about 3:30. After the travel briefing, the leaders put on a Bar-B Q  dinner. It was okay but we had it in the open air pavilion and it was windy and cool.

Cool seeing a train - saw many.

Ice Glacier - one of many

Had great fun on the glacier - Throwing ice balls - ouch!!  We all took cups to drink the pure water.
